Meetings are an important part of OMNE membership. Members and non-members gather for part or a full day of networking, education and have the opportunity to influence nursing practice in our state.
OMNE meetings are held nine times each year with dates posted on our Calendar. Our meetings are held at the Senator Inn in Augusta unless another location is specified. No meetings are held in July or August and meeting dates in March and April vary due to AONE and the Annual Nursing Summit.
Payments for meeting attendance can be made when registering online. Payment may also be mailed or paid at the door the day of the meeting. Members are encouraged to introduce OMNE to a friend, peer, co-worker by inviting them to be a guest at a meeting for only $20.00.
Our Annual Meeting takes place in Freeport over 1½ days each fall when we get together with Region 1 AONE and other professional organizations, such as MHA and MSHRA.
Notes of Interest & Support
OMNE becomes OMNL
The current and unprecedented pandemic has ushered in new challenges and placed incredible strain on the healthcare system. Nurses have truly emerged as leaders meeting these new challenges head on with innovation, determination, and grit to provide excellent patient care. A foundational belief of OMNE is that all nurses are leaders regardless of title and for this reason the executive committee has been hard at work to develop a brand that promotes core belief and value of OMNE. That is why OMNE brand and name has changed and will now be OMNL (Organization of Maine Nursing Leaders). It is OMNL’s mission to shape health care through innovation and expert nursing leadership our new brand name recognizes that this leadership occurs at all levels of nursing.
